Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 1, 2026
Welcome to COINCUBE! This Privacy Policy is provided by COINCUBE TECHNOLOGY LLC, the developer of the COINCUBE Bitcoin wallet software. COINCUBE is a self-hosted, non-custodial Bitcoin wallet that you download and run on your own device. This means we do not custody your Bitcoin or have access to your private keys. Any reference to "we," "us," or "our" refers to COINCUBE TECHNOLOGY LLC unless otherwise specified. References to "you" or "your" mean any user who downloads and uses the COINCUBE wallet software.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains what limited information we collect when you use the COINCUBE wallet software and our website, and how we handle that information. This Policy also addresses optional third-party services that may be available through the wallet.
1. About COINCUBE Wallet Software
COINCUBE is a self-hosted Bitcoin wallet. This means:
- You download and install the wallet software on your own device
- Your Bitcoin private keys are stored locally on your device, not on our servers
- We do not custody, control, or have access to your Bitcoin
- We do not have the ability to freeze, reverse, or block your transactions
- You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and private keys
2. Information Collected by COINCUBE TECHNOLOGY LLC
Because COINCUBE is a self-hosted wallet, we collect minimal information:
Information We DO Collect:
- Website Analytics: When you visit our website (coincube.io), we may collect standard web analytics data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on our site. This is collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Support Communications: If you contact our support team via email or Telegram, we collect the information you provide (email address, message content) to assist you.
- Crash Reports (Optional): If you opt in, the wallet may send anonymous crash reports to help us improve the software. These reports do not contain personal information or transaction details.
Information We DO NOT Collect:
- Your Bitcoin private keys or seed phrases
- Your Bitcoin addresses or transaction history (stored locally on your device only)
- Your personal identity information (name, address, ID documents, etc.)
- Your bank account or financial information
- Biometric data
3. Optional Buy/Sell Services
COINCUBE wallet does not currently offer in-app Buy/Sell or trading services, so no related information is collected or shared with any Buy/Sell provider. If optional Buy/Sell features provided by third parties become available in the future, this section will be updated to describe how those third parties handle your information before the services are enabled.
4. How COINCUBE TECHNOLOGY LLC Uses Information
The limited information we collect is used to:
- Maintain and improve the COINCUBE wallet software
- Analyze website usage and optimize user experience
- Respond to support inquiries
- Fix bugs and improve software stability
- Communicate important updates about the wallet software
5. How We Share Your Data
COINCUBE TECHNOLOGY LLC does not sell or rent your information. We may share limited data with:
- Service Providers: We may use third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics) to analyze website traffic. These providers process data on our behalf.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government regulation.
- SMS Delivery Provider: If you use our optional SMS notification features (see Section 13), we share the recipient's phone number and message content with our SMS messaging provider solely to deliver those messages. Mobile opt-in and consent information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing.
Note: We do not share wallet-related data (addresses, transactions, balances) because we do not collect or have access to this information.
6. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies to enhance your browsing experience and analyze site traffic. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. The COINCUBE wallet software itself does not use cookies or tracking technologies.
7. Data Retention
We retain information as follows:
- Website Analytics: Retained for up to 26 months, then automatically deleted
- Support Communications: Retained for up to 3 years to maintain support history
- Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days, then deleted
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect the limited information we collect. However, because COINCUBE is a self-hosted wallet, you are responsible for the security of your wallet, private keys, and Bitcoin. We recommend:
- Keep your seed phrase secure and never share it with anyone
- Use strong device passwords and enable device encryption
- Only download COINCUBE from official sources
- Keep your wallet software updated
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the limited information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your information
- Opt out of analytics tracking by adjusting your browser settings
- Withdraw consent for optional features like crash reporting
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
10. Children's Privacy
COINCUBE is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. International Users
COINCUBE wallet software can be used globally. If you are located outside Nigeria, please be aware that any information we collect may be processed in other jurisdictions. By using COINCUBE, you consent to the transfer of information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through our website or within the wallet application. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.
13. SMS / Text Message Notifications
COINCUBE offers an optional SMS text-message notification feature that supports the wallet's emergency-contact and recovery features. If these features are used, a COINCUBE account owner may add a trusted person (such as a family member or friend) as an emergency contact by entering that person's mobile number in the wallet and confirming they have permission to contact them. The person added receives a one-time confirmation message and, after that, a text message only if the account owner activates their emergency protection, along with an all-clear message when it is resolved.
These messages are transactional safety notifications, not marketing. Message frequency varies based on account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for assistance.
Your mobile information is never shared for marketing. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in or consent information are used solely to deliver these notifications. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile opt-in data, consent, or phone numbers collected for SMS with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may share this information only with the subprocessor that operates our messaging service (our SMS delivery provider), and only to deliver the messages the recipient has agreed to receive.
